Work Text:
Liz is all striped turtleneck tank, all peach linen pants, everything old Earth hipster style wrapped up meticulously into a ribboned present in front of her. Anna would’ve pegged her as an art student if Liz hadn’t stated, as clearly as her intoxication would allow, that she’s definitely going into law, thank you very much, she’s just figuring herself out.
Anna, in her youth, is a bit enamored. Liz is everything that she wishes she could be, early in both transitions—she transitions into herself, she transitions into studying her dreams, into college and beyond, and she transitions into curiosity. She is cursed to be stagnant, and Elizabeth Sheridan is the opposite of stagnant. She is fluid, open, and wants to decipher the world by experiencing it, wants to take apart the world with her hands and put it back together. Anna’s passion for the universe around her is rooted in her desire to study it, to watch it burst and to learn from its mistakes. Liz flips her into something dynamic. She balances her.
Maybe this friendship will bring her something unprecedented.
